It is with deep sorrow and grief we share the news of the sad demise of one of our beloved Ex-Director of the National Institute of Psychology (NIP), Prof. Dr. Z. A. Ansari, on 23rd July 2024

The Director of NIP, Prof. Dr. Rubina Hanif, along with the faculty and staff, extend their deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Dr. Ansari. We pray to Almighty Allah (SWT) to place the departed soul in eternal peace, grant him the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous, and give the bereaved family patience and forbearance to bear this irreparable loss. Aameen-ya-Rubul-Aalameen.

He will be remembered as a person of exceptional integrity and dedication to his service. He had a tireless work ethic and demonstrated outstanding leadership in the field of psychology. Dr. Ansari’s passing is an immense loss, and he leaves behind a remarkable legacy that will continue to be a source of inspiration for us.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Dr. Ansari was born on 1st April 1937 in India. He joined as a Lecturer in 1964 in the Department of Psychology at Peshawar University, Peshawar. In 1970, he was promoted to Assistant Professor, and from 1976 to 1979, he served the department as an Associate Professor. He joined the National Institute of Psychology (NIP) as Deputy Director (BPS-19) on 8th July 1979. Later, he was appointed as the Director (BPS-20) of NIP on 11th July 1981. On 12th November 1992, he left for Malaysia to become a Professor of Psychology at the International Islamic University Malaysia. He later rejoined NIP and retired on 31st March 1997.
